EMPIRE REVIVAL CHINA / CURIO

Circa 1900.  American Empire Revival china closet/ curio. Simple yet elegant, in fine figured rosewood, with scroll feet which repeat the lovely, subtle curve of its front columns. The frieze molding is a deep ogee with highly figured matching veneers. This is a large roomy cabinet with all its original curved glass, shelves and working lock and key. The top two shelves are thick glass and the top two sections of the vitrine retain their original mirrored backs. The bottom two shelves are wood with double plate rails and are backed by original finished wood in the lower half of the cabinet.  This beautiful china cabinet would be at home in an Art Deco, Victorian or Empire setting as its lovely proportions and simple elegance complements rather than clashes.  Refinished sometime in the recent past.  Fine over all condition with a small chip to one of the glass shelves.  51" wide x 66 1/2" tall x 21" deep.  Price $2800.00
