ALABASTER FIGURE RICHARD WAGNER

Circa 1880.  Handsome Alabaster Figure / Sculpture of the world renown German composer Richard Wagner (1813-1883). The detail in the carving of the alabaster is very fine, soft and elegant with "mutton chop" side burns and a chin strap beard.  He is wearing a beret and a ruffled cravat which falls into the vest beneath his overcoat. The pedestal he sits on has leaves and horns and is marked under the torso "Wagner". The veining within the alabaster is a light golden caramel. The bust is 7" tall and 4 1/2" shoulder to shoulder. There are no chips or breaks to this lovely piece. Excellent condition.  Price  $395.00
