BRISTOL STYLE MANTEL VASES

Circa 1890. LARGE PAIR OF HAND PAINTED MANTEL VASES. These lovely vases look very much like "Bristol" glass but they are clearly marked Superior Decorating Works, Austria. The mark dates from the early 1890's. The The hand painted flowers are skillfully painted in vibrant colors and appear to be Peonies or large feathery Carnations. Among the stems are tiny blue, white and yellow flowers, which are rendered in a raised enamel. The rims of the vases are lightly gilded. Very good original condition with wear to the gilding on the rims. 11" tall x 8" widest.  Price $200.00 for the pair.
