GEORGE HENRY BOGERT

Circa 1895.  Large landscape, oil on artist's board, painting by the very well listed American artist, George Henry Bogert b.1864-1944.  Beautiful, "luminist" painting of a river and castle in 19th century France.  Hand-written title on the back calls this painting "The Gay Castle", Les Andelys, France and adds additional information about the castle.  Two paintings by George Henry Bogert are owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This painting has been re-framed in a fine old gilt-wood frame and fitted with a linen spacer.  31" wide x 27 1/2 " high  overall,  is 23 1/4" x 20" sight without frame.  Signed, Bogert .  Price $10,500.
