Circa 1880. Unsigned, oil on board, landscape in the style known as the "Hudson River School". This lovely landscape did originate in upstate New York (academy board marked Syracuse). The scene is a wooded hillside with water and a bridge in the distance. Very nicely painted with a soothing pastoral quality enhanced by it's fine original gilded frame. Fine original condition with no damage or in painting, small losses to the gesso of the frame. 24" wide x 30 1/2" high. Price $1,000.
