SARONY & MAJOR LITHOGRAPH

Extremely Fine Pair of Antique Lithographs. This exceptional pair of hand colored lithographs by the very well known firm of Sarony & Major, date from the 1840's which makes their very fine un-damaged and un-faded condition even more unusual. Both lithographs are all original, encased in frames that I believe date between 1865-75. The lithographs both have a beautiful border of grapes and a deep mat. They are set in elegant ebonized and gilded frames that have a very delicate design that I have not seen before. The artist is French, Francis D' Avignon, the prints bear the titles "Autumn" and "Winter" ( circa 1847) in both French and English. Each print is fully marked, Sarony & Major NY. Both prints retain their original glass ( which accounts for the reflections in our photos ).  Both the prints and the frame are in fine original condition even retaining their original backs.  The size over-all is 16" x 19", the print is approximately 9 1/2" x 12 1/4".   Price $350.00 for the pair.
