MAJOLICA JARDINIERE & PEDESTAL

ANTIQUE ONYX STONE PEDESTAL. Tall and elegant, this Classical style pedestal is as bold and handsome as any I have seen. Beautifully figured onyx, gracefull round turnings and bands of gilded and  detailed metal conections all in very fine antique condition. Fresh from an estate in Riverdale, NY, large and sturdy enough for any plant or statue. Very fine "as found" condition with no issues except for a depression between the two layers of the square top which I believe original to the stone itself not a later damage. This depression can be felt but is hard to see because of the nature of the stone itself. We have taken a head on picture of this { third photo} to show you what we mean. This piece is exceptionally heavy and can only be shipped freight or "blanket wrapped". Circa 1910.  40 3/4" tall x 12x12", the base is 10" square.  Price $795.
