SILVER & SILVER PLATE
Circa 1880. Pairpoint silver company nut bowl with squirrel figure. I have had several of this type of nut bowl over the years and this one is the largest and most detailed yet. Done in a "naturalistic" design, the bowl looks as if it was made of a nest of leaves, with folds and open spaces. The squirrel is perched on one end eating a nut. Under the squirrel is a small twig. The bowl sits on feet that appear to be lotus flowers, beautifully sculpted and cast. Very fine American silver plate, signed by a top maker. Fine original condition and patina. 4 1/2" x 11" x 7 1/2". Price $350.00
