ENGLISH CHESS TABLE

Elegant English Chess Table. Circa 1830. This fine William IV game table is fashioned in rosewood, with an inset chess board in rosewood and satin wood squares. The graceful pedestal is a tapered column, on a shaped four legged base ending in bun feet. There is a single drawer which retains its original lock and working key. The interior of the drawer is sectioned to hold your chess or checker sets. The table is finished on all four sides to make it free standing. Over-all fine antique condition with a shrinkage crack to the chess board and some small, minor repairs to the edges. Original finish, lightly re-polished. 22 1/8" wide x 21 3/4"deep x 28 1/4" tall.  Price  $1,600.
